St. Patrick's Day was very social for me, which was pretty epic. (Epic is my new favorite word.) I normally spend that day at home. But this year I did a race--in a storm straight into a head wind. That night I went to dinner with friends who were in town for a triathlon, which incidentally, was cancelled due to the weather. I then went out with a couple I know and we ate corned beef and cabbage at an Irish pub. The next day I was supposed to also have another race, which was also canceled due to weather. I tried talking to the man about the weather, but clearly he didn't listen.

Wimp
I have become a weather wimp. I grew up in Seattle for 20 years and had rain almost every single day. Now it has been raining and I can't stand it. Use a treadmill? Blah. Wear closed toe shoes? I can't find any in my closet. Umbrella? Do I even own one? I think I gave mine away at a white elephant gift exchange.
It takes forever to drive in rain because no one knows how. They are shutting down the airport. Shutting it down! If they shut down the Sea Tac airport because of rain, no one would ever get into the Puget Sound area.
But the rain will go away and it really isn't a big deal, even though everyone is making it out to be. I lose my cable when it rains so I read and my house stays quiet for the evening. So I'll curl up with a good book tonight. Too bad I will miss Burn Notice and the Real Housewives of OC.

Wintertime
Diet Coke with swirls of snowflake designs on the can, pumpkin streusel muffins from a co-worker, a chilly morning, hot chocolate...these are a few of my favorite things.
The weather is chilly today, but temps will go back up by Monday to 90 F, but for now, I enjoyed the warm feel of my blankets when my alarm went off and the cold air surrounding my bed.
I get my brackets of my braces off in Nov. then I switch to an invisalign for a few weeks as my retainer is made. Happy day!
So now I finally had three good things happen to me: 1. an exciting race this past weekend. 2. the dentist saying to me "I think we're about done with those braces." 3. An old friend emailed me out of the blue, which was a pleasant and welcomed surprise.
My horoscope yesterday said "an overseas journey is going to begin." Hmm....I think I'll have to have another international trip to make this horoscope come true.
