Healthy Tip: Write down your fitness goals and you will be more likely to achieve them
My New Year's Fitness Resolutions:
1. Run 3 half marathons by February 2009
2. Complete an Ironman competition
3. Place in an event
4. Join a swimming team

I'll revisit these goals every so often to make sure I am on track. Happy training!
Healthy Tip: Smiling brings joy into your life
Through the magic of Facebook, I reconnected with someone I went to high school with who also happens to be acting in a play in my town. Through his graciousness, he got me a free ticket (4th row, center!) and invited me to the opening party at a nearby restaurant. Mingling with New York's elite, meaning the theater crowd, was an eye-opening experience. Everyone was so glamourous and beautiful and sophisticated and colorful and vibrant--all the things you think they will be when you picture actors and actresses from Broadway. All of them looked like they were plucked from a GQ fashion shoot--perfectly coifed hair, perfectly applied makeup with heavy red lipstick or bright blue eye shadow applied heavily. The women wore fancy petticoats and scarves and sipped wine effortlessly. Luckily for me, I got to amazingly be among them for a couple of hours. I certainly stood out in my dress not bought from some vintage shop in SoHo, but the outlet Banana Republic store and my plaid coat bought at Macys. I didn't have a makeup artist do my makeup and I certainly don't have an ounce of their talent, but I smiled the entire evening. Reconnecting with an old classmate was one of the highlights of my year so far...even though it was only January 3rd. Thank you for a tremendous evening of beauty, theater, and endless talent.
